photography tips

Glamour photography is the type of photography that places emphasis on the model being photographed. At first, most models were celebrities and photographers used photographic techniques to glamorize these celebrities. George Hurrel was one of the first photographers to do this.
Photographers have several tricks that they use to “polish” up their models: including cosmetics, lighting and airbrushing.

The use of glamour photography was not readily acceptable by society at first and magazines got around this by labeling them as art magazines or health magazines.

The first magazine that made glamour photography popular was Playboy
The publisher used nude models and marketed his magazine to the consumers. His most famous celebrity to pose nude was Marilyn Monroe in the December 1953 issue of the magazine. Other publishers followed his lead.
